Investigation into the scene of an accident that occurred on 7/28/14 at 11:35 A.M revealed that Jayson Rodgers, 29, Clinton was traveling eastbound on State Highway 10, east of Setting Sun Road. Rodgers admitted to using his cell phone to check his e-mail. Rodgers dropped his cell phone on the floor and was trying to pick it up, this causes his vehicle to go off the roadway to the south. Rodgers veered back north onto the roadway again and veered south into the ditch. Upon striking the ditch the vehicle rolled on its roof. Once on the roof the vehicle continued to slide destroying 4 rows, 120 foot section of corn. Rodgers stated he was not injured, was wearing his seatbelt and airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed by Maples Towing.

Derek Santis, 39, North Salem, NY, was issued a Citation for Speeding 77 MPH in a 55 MPH Zone. Santis was issued a promise to comply and was released.

Jeremi Vandyke, 38, Bloomington was issued a Citation for Speeding 71 MPH in a 55 MPH Zone. Vandyke posted his IL Driver’s License as bond and was released.

Marina Shofner, 22, Kenney was issued a Citation for Speeding 80 MPH in a 55 MPH Zone. Shofner posted her IL Driver’s License as bond and was released.

Terry Taylor, 26, Clinton was issued a Citation for Speeding 73 MPH in a 55 MPH Zone. Taylor posted his IL Driver’s License as bond and was released.

 

 

ALL SUSPECTS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL FOUND GUILTY IN A COURT O LAW.
