Mansberger says not much of the foundation can be saved, but its legacy and connection to the young attorney Abraham Lincoln will be recorded with pictures and drawings for future generations. The original two-story courthouse dates back to 1836 and cost about 340-bucks to build. Crews are digging at the site now, preparing it for a new Route 66 visitor's center.
