The high school football season is starting a bit earlier this year. Normally, the first official day of practice is on a Wednesday but IHSA spokesman Matt Troha says it's being bumped up a couple of days.

Troha says teams will get a few extra days on the field this year.

Teams will be allowed to hit the field next Monday, August 11th. The first games are played August 29th and state championship weekend is November 28th and 29th in Champaign.
