The DeWitt County Board approved a motion to close the County Clerk's Office on Election Day.

DeWitt County Clerk Dana Smith requested the Board to close her office on November 4th. She explained this will be a unique election year due to a couple factors. Individuals will have the option to register to vote on election day which will allow them to vote on the same day. Voters will also be likely to receive more than one sheet of paper this year. Smith, along with other area County Clerks, believe closing their offices is the best option to focus on what needs to be accomplished.

The Board voted unanimously 11-0 to close the office on Election Day.
