 width=Jared White, the local farm broadcaster for Miller Media Group agriculture radio stations Newstalk WTIM THE BIG 870 AM and 96.3 FM in Taylorville, and WHOW THE BIG 1520 AM and 92.3 FM in Clinton, was recognized for his service to Illinois agriculture by Farm Credit Illinois, during ceremonies on the lawn of Illinois Agriculture Director Bob Flider Tuesday at the Illinois State Fair.

White received an award for his promotion of agriculture in his local interviews featured each morning and noon hour, on the 2 ag radio stations, as well as streamed and archived at illinoisfarmradio.com.

Mike Loyd, marketing director for Farm Credit Illinois, presented the award to White, who has been the local farm broadcaster for the 2 stations since May 2011.

White is also station manager of WHOW-WEZC Radio in Clinton, and a member of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting.

Miller Media Group president Randal J. Miller, received the same award from Farm Credit Illinois in 2011, for his nearly 30 years of coverage of agriculture events from the Illinois State Fair.
