On First Day of School, Clinton Schools Leader Proud of New Elementary Building

width=Elementary students in the Clinton School district spent their first school day at their state of the art facility on Wednesday as classes convened for the 2014-15 school year.

The facility has been was moved into in early July and teachers began preparing their classrooms in the weeks since. According to Dr. Jeff Holmes, the first day of school this year brings him a lot of pride.

With anything new, the building does get moved into and used with some things that need adjusting. Dr. Holmes says while nothing is major, there are some minor things that need taken care of. He points to the geothermal units needing minor adjustments.

Parents and students may have noticed there is not a playground set up at the new elementary school. The district has a playground purchased and ready to assemble, however because of the wet summer we're experience in central Illinois, Dr. Holmes indicates his custodial staff has not had the opportunity to get it set up.

Dr. Holmes feels the district is fortunate the two problems are to this point the only issues they have dealt with. He says they are things they anticipated happening but feels things are getting better each day.
