THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION SAYS THE LATEST HIGH SCHOOL A-C-T SCORES SHOW ILLINOIS REMAINS A LEADER IN GETTING STUDENTS READY FOR COLLEGE.

BOARD OF EDUCATION SPOKESPERSON MARY FERGUS SAYS THE CLASS OF 2014’S AVERAGE COMPOSITE SCORE WAS 20 POINT SEVEN. THAT’S UP SLIGHTLY FROM LAST YEAR…AND ONE OF THE TOP SCORES AMONG SCHOOLS THAT REQUIRE ALL STUDENTS TO TAKE THE A-C-T.

PREVIOUSLY…THE A-C-T WAS GIVEN AS PART OF THE PRAIRIE STATE ACHIEVEMENT EXAM. BUT THIS YEAR…THE P-S-A-E WILL BE REPLACED WITH A NEW TEST. FERGUS SAYS SCHOOLS WILL STILL HAVE THE OPTION THIS YEAR OF GIVING THE A-C-T TO ALL STUDENTS, AT NO COST TO THE DISTRICT.
