Unemployment in many local counties saw small increases in July. Local unemployment figures were released Thursday afternoon.
DeWitt County saw unemployment stay steady at 6.7% in July, the same as June.
Piatt County grew slightly, going from 6.3% to 6.5%.
Macon County's unemployment increased also to 9.5% in July from 9.3% in June
Logan County saw unemployment go from 6.9% to 7.2%.
Unemployment in McLean County grew in July, going from 6.3% to 6.5%.
In Champaign County, employment also increased,up to 7.3%.
Unemployment in Sangamon County went from 6.2% in June to 6.5 in July%..
The highest unemployment rate was at 11.5% in Hardin County.
Brown County once again had the state's lowest unemployment rate at 3.6%.
The state's unemployment actually dropped, going from 7.0% to 7.1%. The national unemployment rate sits at 6.5%.
