Several DeWitt County Citizens Voice Concerns with Board Chair Thursday Night

 width=A series of concerned citizens addressed the DeWitt County Board regarding recent actions by the Board Chair.

A standing-room only courtroom saw several members of various organizations address Board Chair Sherrie Brown regarding the vacant seat in District B. Terry Ferguson, Candidate for DeWitt County Board in November, questioned Brown's rejection of Christy Pruser's appointment to the seat. There was disagreement between the two regarding wording Brown had said regarding contacting Pruser ,at a previous meeting. Ferguson also expressed the wishes of District B to have Pruser on the Board.

Steve Perring, Precinct Committeeman of Nixon Township, also expressed his concerns regarding the recent actions of Brown. He noted the Board's antics which have drawn crowds to the meetings over the last two years. Perring also voiced confidence in Pruser for the vacant seat in District B.

Dewitt County Republican Chairman Dustin Peterson also relayed the wishes of District B citizens. He referred to Brown's refusal to take committee recommendations as disrespectful. Peterson also noted District B could under-represented even more due to questions regarding the residence of Board Member George Wismiller.

Thursday night's meeting saw a group from Better Government for DeWitt County protesting outside the County Building due to Brown's recent decisions.
