With the summer's longest stretch of extreme continuing early this week, local safety officials are reminding the public cooling centers in DeWitt County will remain open again Tuesday.

According to Teresa Barnett, Director of the DeWitt County Emergency Management Agency, the DeWitt County Friendship Center and the Warner Public Library are serving as cooling centers today. Hours for Friendship Center are 8am to 3pm. The Warner Public Library hours are 9am to 9pm.
Barnett says temperatures should cool off starting Wednesday and through the rest of week.
