>>Kirk, Otto Soar In World Rankings

Chris Kirk and Hennie Otto won their respective events over the weekend and soared in this week's world rankings.

Kirk picked up his third PGA Tour win on Monday at the Deutsche Bank Championship and jumped 20 spots to No. 25 in the latest rankings. Otto also won for the third time on the European Tour and he soared 160 spots to No. 97.

 width=The top-five players in the world rankings were the same as last week with Rory McIlroy being trailed by Adam Scott, Henrik Stenson, Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose.

Jason Day and Jim Furyk exchanged spots with Day inching up to sixth and Furyk sliding to seventh. Matt Kuchar was eighth again and he was followed by Bubba Watson, Phil Mickelson and Rickie Fowler.

Martin Kaymer jumped a pair to No. 12 and that knocked Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth down to 13th and 14th.

Zach Johnson, Graeme McDowell, Dustin Johnson and Hideki Matsuyama remained 15th to 18th again this week. Jimmy Walker and Hunter Mahan flip-flopped spots with Walker inching up to 19th and Mahan dipping to 20th.

>>Watson Selects Three Veterans For U.S. Ryder Cup Team

(New York, NY) -- United States captain Tom Watson is sticking with veterans for the Ryder Cup team. Watson has named Keegan Bradley, Hunter Mahan and Webb Simpson to the squad. Bradley and Simpson each played in the 2012 Ryder Cup and also were on last year's Presidents Cup team. Mahan was on the 2008 and 2010 Ryder Cup teams. Those three players join Bubba Watson, Rickie Fowler, Jim Furyk, Jimmy Walker, Phil Mickelson, Matt Kuchar [[ KOO-cher ]], Jordan Spieth [[ speeth ]], Patrick Reed and Zach Johnson who all qualified. Brandt Snedeker [[ SNED-eh-ker ]] and current FedExCup playoff points leader Chris Kirk were left off the team. The Ryder Cup begins September 23rd in Perthshire, Scotland.
