A western Illinois postal worker admitted in federal court that mail she stole while working included a debit card she put to use.
Abra Albrecht, 31, of Carrollton pleaded guilty Monday in U.S. District Court in East St. Louis to one felony count of mail theft.
Albrecht admitted that while working at the Kampsville and Hardin post offices in February, she stolen mail that had been deposited for delivery, authorities said. One of the pilfered letters included a debit card that ultimately led to her arrest when she was seen on surveillance video putting it to use, prosecutors said.
Albrecht faces up to five years in federal prison when sentenced Jan. 12.
