(Barcelona, Spain) -- NBA Commissioner Adam Silver is taking the side of Atlanta Hawks general manager Danny Ferry. Silver told "USA Today" on Wednesday that Ferry does not deserve to be fired for his racially charged remarks regarding former free agent Luol Deng. Silver explained in detail that Ferry has a clean track record and he was relaying a scouting report on Deng during a conference call with owners and basketball personnel. Silver also noted that this is a team decision but in his eyes, it is not a terminable offense. Hawks CEO Steve Koonin has also indicated he has no plans to fire Ferry.
