TWO STATE LAWMAKERS ARE PROPOSING A PLAN TO ARM POLICE WITH BODY CAMERAS.

REPRESENTATIVE JEHAN GORDON-BOOTH OF PEORIA IS INTRODUCING LEGISLATION THAT HIKES TRAFFIC AND CRIMINAL FINES BY SIX DOLLARS. THE MONEY RAISED WOULD BE USED TO HELP LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENTS PURCHASE VIDEO CAMERAS FOR SQUAD CARS AND FOR OFFICERS TO WEAR. THE PROPOSAL IS SUPPORTED BY ILLINOIS LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING AND STANDARDS BOARD DIRECTOR KEVIN MCCLAIN.
