Lincoln Chamber Feels Balloon Fest Expansion A Good Thing For Individual Events

 width=2015 will se some major changes for one of Lincoln's most popular events.

The Lincoln Art and Balloon Festival will be expanding to several separate weekends next year. Andi Hake is the Executive Director of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, who is the primary organizer of the busiest weekend in Lincoln. She explains organizers believe the festival needed to expand in order to have long-term viability.

Several favorite activities have now been moved to June and July. June 5-7 will see the Up in Smoke Barbecue Competition, Car Show , Flea Market and Beer & Wine Tent. According to Hake, July will see the Art Fair paired with the Art of Wine Tasting tent in Latham Park.

August of next year, the traditional Balloon Festival at the Logan County Airport will take place and she hopes the usual activities can be enhanced due to the ability to focus on one event. In addition the 1800s Craft Fair will also be paired with the National Railsplitter Festival in September of 2015.
