Bruce Rauner Would've Vetoed Medical Marijuana Law

Bruce Rauner says he would not have signed the medical marijuana law if he were governor when it cleared the legislature. The GOP candidate for governor says the process of giving companies the right to grow and dispense medical pot is too secretive and too restrictive. The law only allows the state to give out 21 grow licenses and allows for only 60-dispensaries.

Agencies under Governor Quinn's control will sift through the applications and decide who is and who isn't. Rauner is calling for a more transparent process, one that leaves Quinn's administration out of the loop. He's calling for a public auction that will allow companies to bid for their licenses.
