Once again, the Thursday night DeWitt County Board meeting has no motion to fill the vacancy open for representation in District B.
Last week was the first meeting since August where no appointment has been on the agenda. It is the County Board Chair's responsibility to bring appointments forward, however, the lone appointment made by Board Chair Sherrie Brown was declined by Jeff Gibbs (pictured right shaking hand of Dan Ballenger).
The seat on the Board has been vacant since June 29, as of the Thursday Board meeting, the vacancy will have been unfilled 84 days.
The DeWitt County Republican Central Committee, various board members and the public have been calling for Brown to appoint Christie Pruser, the widow of the late Tom Pruser, to fill her late-husband's position.
Brown claims she has contacted Pruser about the position but has not heard back as to whether she is interested in the position. Last week, Brown claimed she had spoke to Pruser prior to the meeting but would "not get into it with this mob".
Thursday's meeting is at 7 pm at the DeWitt County Building.
