Bradley University has revised its policies on sexual assault to make it clearer what support is available to students who are victims.

The university spent 18 months working on the revisions.

Nathan Thomas is the private university's vice president of student affairs. According to reports, he says the intention was to make the reporting process less intimidating for victims.

As part of the changes, a director of student support services will work with victims to make sure they know how to report a crime and the other resources available to them.

At the request of student government, the school also now offers amnesty for victims from penalties resulting from underage drinking that might otherwise prevent them from reporting the crime.
