Unemployment figures were unpredictable in many local counties throughout August as local unemployment figures were released Thursday afternoon.
DeWitt County saw unemployment slightly increase from 6.7% in July to 6.8 in August.
Piatt County grew slightly, going from 6.6% to 6.8%.
Macon County's unemployment slightly decreased going from 9.5% in July to 9.4% in August.
Logan County saw unemployment go from 7.2% to 7.3%.
Unemployment in McLean County shrank in July, going from 6.6% to 6.5%.
In Champaign County, employment also increased,up to 7.5%.
Unemployment in Sangamon County stayed steady at 6.5%.
The highest unemployment rate was at 10.7% in Hardin County.
Brown County once again had the state's lowest unemployment rate at 3.5%.
The state's unemployment actually dropped, going from 7.0% to 6.7% in August. The national unemployment rate sits at 6.3%.
