The Cardinals and Dodgers will square off Saturday at 8:37 p.m. It will be on MLB Network, while all other games in the series will be on FoxSports 1. The start time for Monday's Game Three in St. Louis has not yet been announced.

(Kansas City, MO) -- The Kansas City Royals are advancing to the ALDS after a dramatic 9-8, twelfth-inning win over the Oakland Athletics in the American League Wild Card Game from Kauffman Stadium.

KC scored twice in the bottom of the 12th after erasing a four-run deficit earlier in the game. Salvador Perez came through with the game-winning RBI single with two outs in the 12th to score Christian Colon, who had knocked in Eric Hosmer to tie the game. Hosmer finished 3-for-4 with two walks, an RBI and two runs while Billy Butler and Lorenzo Cain each drove in a pair.

James Shields gave up four runs in five-plus innings in the start while Jason Frasor was credited with the win.

The Royals will now face the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the ALDS starting Thursday.

Brandon Moss hit a pair of homers and drove in five for Oakland while Jon Lester gave up six runs in seven-and-a-third innings. Dan Otero was charged with the loss for the A's.

(Pittsburgh, PA) -- The San Francisco Giants play the Pittsburgh Pirates in the National League Wild Card game tonight at PNC Park. The winner of the one-game, do-or-die matchup moves on to play the NL East champion Washington Nationals in the NL Division Series starting Friday in D.C.

Madison Bumgarner takes the mound tonight for San Francisco. The left-hander went 18-and-10 with a 2.98 ERA during the regular season. He'll be opposed by Pittsburgh's Edinson Volquez, who finished the regular season 13-and-7 with a 3.04 ERA.

The Giants have won two World Series titles in the last five seasons, while the Pirates are looking for their first title since winning the 1979 Fall Classic.

Pittsburgh took four-of-six regular-season meetings from San Francisco this year.

(Detroit, MI) -- The Detroit Tigers' starting rotation is set for the American League Division Series. The team will start Max Scherzer [[ SURE-zer ]], Justin Verlander, David Price and Rick Porcello [[ poor-SELL-oh ]] against the Orioles in the series that starts Thursday in Baltimore. Scherzer went 18-and-5 with a 3.15 ERA in 33 starts this season. Verlander, Price and Porcello were all 15-game winners. The Orioles have yet to name a starter beyond Game One, in which right-hander Chris Tillman will get the nod.

(Chicago, IL) -- Cubs president Theo Epstein is already thinking about 2015. He met with the media on Tuesday and said the team's goal is to win the NL Central. They were 73-and-89 this past season but have a plethora of young talent on the rise. Third baseman Kris Bryant is the third-ranked prospect by MLB.com. Shortstop Addison Russell is fifth after coming over from Oakland in the Jeff Samardzija trade.

(New York, NY) -- Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright is the National League Pitcher of the Month for September. The right-hander went 5-and-0 with a 1.38 ERA in five starts, pitching 39 innings over that span. It included two complete games and a shutout. Wainwright finished the season 20-and-9.

(Undated) -- The search for Ron Washington's replacement continues for the Texas Rangers. The team interviewed pitching coach Mike Maddux and Triple-A manager Steve Buechele for manager on Tuesday. Washington resigned in early September, and Tim Bogar went 14-and-8 in his place as the interim manager. Rangers general manager Jon Daniels says he wants a new skipper by the end of October.

The team will have a five-game series against Samurai Japan in November. There are also two exhibition games bringing the total to seven. Robinson Cano of the Mariners, Adam Jones of the Orioles, Yasiel Puig [[ yah-see-EL PWEEG ]] of the Dodgers and Albert Pujols [[ POO-holes ]] of the Angels were previously announced as part of the team.
