One local school district has formed a new team to better the education of students.

Heyworth Schools have created a new District Leadership Team which will develop a professional development plan for staff. According to Superintendent Dr. Ty Wolf, this program creates goals to support staff and faculty as they help students be ready for the adult world. He adds the team also coincides with the School Board's goals of having a quality staff for the district.

Wolf explains portions of the program will go along with new Common Core laws. Yet, it will also take care of specific student needs that are pertinent to the district. Heyworth is committed to looking at academic growth rather than evaluations over the course of a year.

Wolf stresses Heyworth's main goal is to empower their students to do their very best. He also notes test scores have never been the complete focus of teacher/student success.
