Baum Home Following August Motorcycle Accident in Arizona

width=A local Clinton businessman continues to recouperate at home following a serious motorcycle accident in Arizona in August.

Scott Baum, owner of Baum Chevrolet-Buick, was riding with several friends from the Clinton area, in Kingman, Arizona on August 18th, when the motorcycle came down on Baum's right leg.

He was airlifted to a Las Vegas hospital, then later transferred to Memorial Medical Center in Springfield where he was treated from August 27th thru last Saturday when he was released.

After 2 surgeries in Las Vegas to salvage the leg and curtail infection, surgeons at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield were able to transplant muscles and soft tissue to cover a shattered tibula and fibula for Scott. This enables the orthopedic surgeon in Springfield to track the lower bone growth.

Baum will be recovering for another 6 weeks while the tracking is recorded on the bone growth.

Scott tells Regional Radio News that he and his wife Nancy along with his father Richard, his mother Marjorie and sister Stephanie, all deeply appreciate the support they've received from the DeWitt County community.
