Rep. Mitchell Pays Visit To DeWitt County Friendship Center

 width=Illinois State Representative Bill Mitchell of Forsyth stopped by the DeWitt County Friendship Center Wednesday afternoon.

The Representative stopped by to discuss a new Alzheimer's Awareness license plate. He explains the plates haven't been printed yet because 1500 people need register for them and it goes to Alzheimer's research.

According to Rep. Mitchell, he a part of the baby boomer generation, and says as his he and others get older, the effects of Alzheimer's will become to set in for some, and he hopes to bring awareness to the State's effort to help fund research for the disease.

There are several ways to sign up for an Alzheimer’s Awareness license plate. You can visit your local Secretary of State's office or his website.

Rep. Mitchell passed legislation last year for the special license plates and the money goes towards the Alzheimer's Awareness Fund to support the Greater Illinois Chapter of the Alzheimer's Disease and related Disorders Association.
