Nash, Rangers defeat Blues

After a highly criticized playoff run, Rick Nash started off the new season firing as the Rangers defeated the Blues, 3-2, in both team's opener at the Scottrade Center.  Nash gave the Blueshirts a 1-0 lead in the first period and then tallied the game winner with under two minutes left in the third.  Chris Kreider scored the other New York goal.  Henrik Lundqvist turned away 23 of 25 shots in the victory.  Jaden Schwartz and Paul Stastny [[ tare-uh-SANK-oh ]] each lit the lamp in the third period for St. Louis to tie the game at one and two, respectively.  Brian Elliot gave up all three goals on 25 shots.
