Monticello Schools Beginning To Implement New Technology

 width=The wave of technology in today's classrooms is sweeping central Illinois.

The Monticello School district began two new pilot programs this school year involving new technology and according to Superintendent Dr. Vic Zimmerman, one involves new Chrome Books for various school work. He explains students and parents will both be able to evaluate the effectiveness of the Chrome Books.

The second pilot program was applied for by teachers in the district. Dr. Zimmerman notes three teachers were selected to have Chrome Books in their classroom at each building. He explains the Chrome Books are going to have a variety of uses for students and educators.

Zimmerman believe one-to-one technology will eventually be the future of the classroom. He stresses the next generation has grown up only in a world of technology and schools need to meet them where they are at.
