The USDA is raising the crop production forecast for Illinois. The state's Crop Statistician, Mark Schleusener, says soybean yields will come in at a record high.

That means Illinois will keep its ranking as the nation's number one soybean-producing state. Corn yields are reaching record highs. The state is expected to harvest 200-bushels-per-acre. Total corn yield will be more than two-point-three-billion-bushels.
