Clinton Teen Battling Rare Disease

A Clinton teen who has been diagnosed with a rare disease is currently out of the state to acquire a specially trained K-9 to help her cope with her condition.

Lukah Case is a 16-year old Clinton High School student, and according to her mother Andi Case, Lukah's condition dysautonomia effects the nervous system in such a way that can at time be almost paralyzing.

Andi indicates Lukah is currently in Pennsylvania to acquire a specially trained dog that will be a tremendous help to her quality of life. Dysautonomia can cause seizures and fainting spells and Andi says the dog will help in the aftermath of those incidents.

A benefit to help raise money for the Case family to afford this specially trained dog will be held Saturday at the Clinton Elks from 2-11 pm. We'll have more on the event later this week on Regional Radio News.

To learn more about Lukah, her condition, or this weekend's event, you can search "Doggone dysautonomia" on Facebook and the page for Lukahs' service dog cause will come up, or follow Andi's blog on her perspective at www.lookingforlukah.com.
