Governor Quinn is spending the day with families of gun violence. He's been pushing for a ban on assault weapons in Illinois. Here's what he had to say about the issue during a debate last night.

Sandy and Lonnie Phillips made the rounds with Quinn in Chicago today. They lost their daughter in the Aurora, Colorado theatre shooting two years ago. They've been speaking out about assault weapons ever since. Quinn has been pushing for a ban in Illinois but has had trouble getting lawmakers to support the deal. His Republican opponent Bruce Rauner is not on board with banning people from owning the guns.
