Open Enrollment for Medicare Part D begins this week for local seniors.

The Open Enrollment period will allow seniors to compare different prescription drug plans. Rebecca Wheat, PATH Outreach Coordinator, explains beneficiaries can set up an appointment to review the plans at the DeWitt County Friendship Center. Plans will be customized through Medicare's website.

Wheat notes seniors will need to bring their Medicare card and a list of medications to their appointments. She adds PATH can assist in merging all medications to one pharmacy as well.

Wheat is also able to provide home visits for those unable to leave their home. They can request a visit by calling 935-9411.
