(Columbus, OH) -- Bulls guard Jimmy Butler will undergo an MRI today on his thumb. Butler injured the left thumb in Sunday's exhibition win over the Hornets and missed last night's game against the Cavaliers. Early indications are that the thumb is sprained and won't require surgery.

(Indianapolis, IN) -- Indiana Pacers forward Paul George is making progress less than three months after suffering a compound fracture in his right leg. George was seen Monday shooting jumpers in a gym after practice. He was cleared to put weight on the leg and do upper-body work in late September. George was injured during a Team USA intrasquad scrimmage on August 1st as the U.S. was preparing for the FIBA Basketball World Cup. George said recently he plans to play at some point during this NBA season.
