State Senator Dave Luechtefeld is going to bat for a Supreme Court Justice who's under attack. He says a group known as "Campaign for 2016" will have a pretty big payday if they can get Justice Lloyd Karmeier off the bench.

The "Campaign for 2016" has been running ads against Karmeier in southern Illinois, claiming he hasn't been fair and that he's been bought by businesses. They want people to vote "No" to retain Karmeier when they head to the polls on November 4th, but Luechtefeld says that would be a travesty. He says the "Campaign for 2016" has gotten at least half-a-million-dollars from lawyers connected to cases involving State Farm and tobacco giant Phillip Morris. Both have cases before the Court. Karmeier has sided against the company in previous rulings.
