Lincoln Christian Church's Harvest of Talents Raising Money For World Hunger

width=One of Lincoln's most popular annual events is celebrating its 31st anniversary this weekend.

The Harvest of Talents for World Hunger began at Lincoln Christian Church in 1983. Pat Snyder, Founder of the Harvest of Talents, was inspired to create an event where everyone could contribute some kind of talent to aid in the fight against starvation. The funds of the event are given to International Disaster Emergency Service annually who, then , distribute to where the money is most needed.

Harvest of Talents Chairman, Carolyn Neal, explains IDES will make the tough decisions regarding the fund distribution. Over the past 30 years, money has been distributed to 26 countries around the world including the United States. Victims of last year's tornado in Washington will be supported through this year's total as well.

Snyder and Neal add every dollar counts during the Harvest. One dollar can feed a child rice and beans for an entire day.

The Harvest of Talents will open its doors at 7am this Saturday, October 25th, at Lincoln Christian Church. Tune in tomorrow to learn about the events that take place during Harvest of Talents.
