A twin-propeller airplane has made an emergency landing in a western Illinois soybean field after running out of fuel.

According to reports, the Adams County Sheriff's Office said the plane's four occupants were standing near the plane Sunday when responders arrived. They landed about 3.5 miles southeast of Quincy Regional Airport. No injuries were reported and the four people declined medical treatment.

Authorities say the plane was headed to Quincy from Florida when it ran out of fuel before landing. Airport manager Jarred Hester said the plane sustained some damage, but the extent of the damage wasn't immediately clear.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
