Redskins Upset Cowboys; Rams Hit Hard By Injuries

(Arlington, TX) -- Kai Forbath booted a 40-yard field goal in overtime and the Redskins defense held on to give Washington a 20-17 win over the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. Colt McCoy threw for 299 yards with an interception and ran for a touchdown as the 'Skins improved to 3-and-5 on the season. DeSean Jackson made six catches for 136 yards while Alfred Morris ran for 73 yards and a TD in the win. Tony Romo threw for 209 yards and a touchdown in defeat and left the game in the third quarter with an apparent back injury. He returned late in the fourth and played through overtime. DeMarco Murray ran for 141 yards and made four catches for 80 yards as Dallas fell to 6-and-2. Jason Witten finished with 70 yards and a touchdown receiving while Dez Bryant made three catches for 30 yards and a score in defeat.

(St. Louis, MO) -- The St. Louis Rams will play the remainder of the season without wide receiver Brian Quick. ESPN reports Quick is done for the year with a dislocated shoulder and torn rotator cuff. He was leading the team with 375 receiving yards this season. Quick joins quarterback Sam Bradford and left tackle Jake Long as players that are on the shelf after suffering season-ending injuries.

(Earth City, MO) -- The Rams are losing a key piece to their offensive line. ESPN reports the team will be without offensive tackle Jake Long for the rest of the season due to a torn ACL. An MRI revealed the injury after Long left Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

(Undated) -- The New York Jets are making a change at quarterback. Head coach Rex Ryan says the team will start Michael Vick at QB instead of Geno Smith. Smith has seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions in his second season out of West Virginia. Vick has 200 yards and an interception this season as the backup. The Jets play the Chiefs on Sunday.

(Undated) -- The Detroit Lions are getting some bad news after Sunday's win over the Atlanta Falcons in London. ESPN Chicago reports defensive tackle Nick Fairley sprained his PCL and MCL. He's expected to miss four to five weeks. Fairley has 14 tackles and a sack this season.

(Owings Mills, MD) -- Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith will miss the next few weeks due to a sprained foot. Smith was carted off the field on Sunday as the Ravens lost to the Cincinnati Bengals. The Ravens will likely turn to corner Dominique Franks, who was signed after Asa Jackson was placed on injured reserve.

(East Rutherford, NJ) -- New York Giants linebacker Jon Beason will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a toe injury. Beason told reporters he has been playing without a crucial ligament in his big toe. He suffered the injury in the offseason. The 29-year-old had 11 tackles in four games this season for the G-Men.
