Rams Acquire Big Time Safety

(St. Louis, MO) -- The St. Louis Rams are adding safety Mark Barron to their roster. NFL.com reports the Rams have acquired the third-year player from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in exchange for a future fourth and six-round draft pick. Barron was the seventh overall pick of the 2012 draft. He had 49 tackles in seven games this season for the 1-and-6 Bucs. The Alabama product has three career interceptions.

(Undated) -- Longtime cornerback Champ Bailey is calling it a career. His agent says, despite interest from several teams, the 36-year-old has decided to retire after 15 NFL seasons. Bailey played the last 10 seasons with the Denver Broncos, but was released in the offseason for salary cap reasons. The 12-time Pro Bowler spent his first five seasons with the Washington Redskins. Bailey was with New Orleans in training camp this year, but failed to make the roster.
