As heard on 95.9 WEZC and streaming on dewittdailynews.com, the Monticello Sages defeated the Elmwood/Brimfield Trojans 45-43 in the first round of the playoffs Saturday afternoon.

For the Sages (7-3), Brandon Wildman went 33-45 for 370 yards with 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Clay Becker had 9 carries for 50 yards and also had 6 catches for 68 yards and a touchdown. Noah Freemon had 7 catches for 63 yards and a touchdown. Ryne Bundy had 9 catches for 143 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jacob Burton had 7 catches for 70 yards.
