NC Man, Illinois Child Killed In Forsyth Wreck

The Highway Patrol has released the names of a North Carolina man and a boy from Illinois who died in a multi-vehicle wreck in Forsyth County.

The patrol said Friday that 51-year-old Jesse Hickman of Mount Airy and 9-year-old Jeremy Crymes of Minooka, Illinois, where killed in the wreck that sent eight other people to the hospital.

Troopers say the wreck happened Thursday afternoon when a tractor trailer rig hit five vehicles on U.S. 52 near Rural Hall.

Both of those who were killed were in vehicles that were hit by the truck. The crash happened near a bridge construction zone as traffic was slowing and merging into one lane.

The patrol continues to investigate. No charges have been filed.
