A nighttime shuttle program at Bradley University has proved so popular officials have added a "Hilltop Safety Cruiser."
The safe-transportation program uses trained students to provide shuttle pickup and drop-off to students, faculty and staff in the campus area.
The second vehicle was partially funded by a grant from the PNC Foundation.
The program began in 2012 and provides rides Sunday through Wednesday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Bradley University Police Chief Brian Joschko says the shuttle carries an average of 77 passengers a day. He says two vans will be able to transport more students and reduce wait times.
The two-van program should be in full swing after Thanksgiving break. But Joschko says operating hours may be adjusted based on demand.
