>>Astros Acquire Congers From Angels

(Houston, TX) -- The Houston Astros are adding catching depth. The team has acquired backstop Hank Conger from the AL West rival Los Angeles Angels in exchange for catcher Carlos Perez and pitcher Nick Tropeano. Conger hit .221 with four home runs and 25 RBI in 80 games last season for the Halos.

>>Rangers Name Michael Young Assistant GM

(Arlington, TX) -- Michael Young is returning to the Texas Rangers organization. The team's all-time hits leader will serve as a special assistant to General Manager Jon Daniels. Young is expected to work in all areas of baseball operations, including scouting, player evaluation and player development. The 38-year-old leads the franchise is several offensive categories, including games played, runs scored, doubles, triples, total bases, at-bats and multi-hit games. He played 13 seasons with the Rangers before signing with Philadelphia in 2013.

>>Dodgers Add Zaidi, Byrnes To Front Office

(Los Angeles, CA) -- The Los Angeles Dodgers continue to overhaul their front office. MLB.com reports the team will name ex-Athletics assistant general manager Farhan Zaidi [[ FAHR-hahn ZAY-dee ]] their new GM this week. The 37-year-old had been with Oakland for 10 years and was promoted just before last season. The "LA Times" reports the Dodgers are also adding former D'backs and Padres GM Josh Byrnes to an unknown front office position. The two join Los Angeles' new president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman, who joined the club last month after leaving the Tampa Bay Rays.
