Police Say Two Teens Die In Central Illinois Crash

The Illinois State Police say two teenagers have died in a two-vehicle crash in Montgomery County.

According to reports, the teens died Wednesday afternoon in the collision near Raymond that seriously injured the car's teenager driver. Authorities haven't released their names.

Police say the teens veered off of Illinois 48 and then overcorrected into an oncoming minivan's path. The minivan struck the car on its passenger side.

Police say the car's front-seat passenger was pronounced dead at the scene and the back-seat passenger was pronounced dead at an area hospital. The driver was flown by helicopter to a hospital with serious injuries.

Police say the minivan driver was hospitalized with injuries that weren't life threatening.

The newspaper couldn't reach police or the Montgomery County coroner for additional comment.
