Idea Sessions Set For Clinton All-Purpose Path

Clinton residents are encouraged to come out next Thursday and be a part of a brainstorming session for a future all-purpose walk/bike path in Clinton.

According to City Administrator Tim Followell, the multi-purpose pathway is a recently born idea the city of Clinton is going to pursue. He explains the plans are in their infant stages, but he hopes it can be the beginning of something very special in Clinton.

Next Thursday, there will be two sessions lasting about two hours. According Followell, they wanted to try and accomadate all people with varying schedules. He indicates the sessions start out general, and then go into small groups to help their architects come up with ideas.

Followell compares the vision for this project to the Bloomington/Normal "Constitution Trail". He says while they had a better outline for theirs, an old rail line path, he hopes Clinton and DeWitt County can find something similar what they are trying for.

Followell hopes the evening is fun and entertaining. He says it will lead to a lot interesting conversations as the public can give their input on hot spots that could potentially be tied together by this path.

The sessions are both next Thursday, November 13. The first begins at 1 pm in the afternoon and the second at 6 pm. Both will be held at the Copper and Brass Room on Madison Street.
