A local organization is teaming up with area youth in a free throw shooting contest later this month.
The Clinton Elks Lodge No. 785 will be participating in a nationwide event called "The Elks Hoop Shoot" November 22 at the Clinton YMCA. The event is in conjunction with the Elks National Foundation.
It is a free throw shooting contest for youth ages 8 to 13 and is free of charge. Contestants have the opportunity to compete for a spot in the national competition in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Kids ages 8-9 shoot from a distance of four feet from the regulation foul line and at least five shots per contestant will be allowed.
Standard free throw shooting rules apply, along with contestants are only allowed four dribbles per shot.

The age group of contestants will be determined by their ag as of April 1, 2015.
