Davis says the Congressional Budget Office indicates hundreds of thousands of people could lose their jobs across the country if there was an increase in the minimum wage to ten-ten and hour. Voters in four different states voted in favor of a binding referendum to increase their minimum wage. Illinois voters voted in favor of a nonbinding referendum to increase the states' minimum wage.
