Children's Advocacy Center Begins Blue Kids Tree Campaign

The Children's Advocacy Center serving DeWitt, McLean and Livingston Counties will soon be distributing their "Blue Kids Trees".

The "Blue Kids Trees" is a holiday season drive they do where they distribute Christmas trees to area businesses for the purpose of collecting items they need through the course of a year. According to Executive Director, Judy Brucker, the trees may have requests for items such as gas cards or coats.

Because the needs of the many children and families they serve, it may seem like donated items would get used quickly, however, Brucker explains they try to be careful and diligent with how they use the donations they receive from the public.

Thanks to community donations last year, Brucker indicates they collected over $10-thousand worth of needed items.

For businesses leaders wanting to have a tree placed in their operation, it is not too late to do so. Brucker encourages anyone interested to contact her at 309-888-5656.
