City Streets Department To End Leaf Cleanup Next Week

If you still have leaves to be cleaned up in your yard, this weekend may be the last opportunity if you want them picked up by the city.

Since October, the Streets Department has made the rounds across Clinton cleaning up leaf piles residents put out on the curbside. According to Commissioner of Streets and Public Improvements, Nan Crang indicates, that will end before the Thanksgiving holiday.

According to Crang, the recent cold spell has caused many challenges for the street department. The cold temperatures have halted their efforts as the machine they use has been unable to handle the cold temperatures.

Residents can still take their leaves to the yard waste facility. Those hours run 3 to 5 pm Tuesday and Thursday, then 8 am to noon and 1 to 5 pm on Saturdays. City officials indicate the yard waste facility's hours are weather dependent.
