State agencies are gearing up for a round cuts. Governor-Elect Bruce Rauner is asking the agencies to slash 20-percent from their budgets. He's hoping to get a better understanding of what things will look like once the income-tax rate rolls back, in January. The state will lose billions-of-dollars in revenues when that happens. Rauner's team says he's asking for the cuts so he can prepare a responsible budget when he takes over as governor.
