The annual Candlelight Tours at the CH Moore Homestead kicks off the holiday season this weekend. Joey Woolridge, Assistant Manager of the DeWitt County Museum, notes opening weekend will also receive a visit from Santa which could provide a great photo opportunity for families.
Woolridge notes the illuminated house brings a different feel to the house during the holidays. The numerous visitors also help to make the tours a unique experience.
Museum Manager Larry Buss explains the trees and lights begin to go up the first Monday in November. To add to the atmosphere, the Homestead also creates an incredibly complicated light system.
The theme for this year's tours is "A Starry Night".
The Candlelight Tours will begin on Friday November 28th and will continue each Friday through December 26th. For more information on the tours, you can go to www.chmoorehomestead.org or call 935-6066.
