Businesses Partner With Children's Advocacy Centers For Holidays

width=Local businesses are teaming up with a non-profit group that serves abused children this holiday season.

With the holiday season officially kicked off, the Child Protection Network and area businesses are teaming up in hopes gaining public support for their year round efforts. The annual Blue Kids Trees the CPN puts out are now up in area businesses and according to Executive Director of the Child Protection Network, Judy Brucker, the trees provide the public with an opportunity to support their efforts.

The effort of the Blue Kids Trees is not a Christmas driven endeavor. Brucker explains the items they seek to collect are used year round by the families they serve.

The Child Protection Network serves DeWitt, Livingston and McLean Counties and Brucker indicates you will find the trees in businesses and buildings all over DeWitt and McLean County.

For all the items on the trees the CPN asks for, Brucker indicates they get back about 90% of what they ask for. She explains they use their collections from other drives to figure up what they may need for a given year.

For those that collect any ornaments from the Blue Kids Trees or are interested in doing so, a list of locations can be found at the CPN website, www.mcleancpn.org. Items can be returned to any of the CPN locations in DeWitt, McLean, and Livingston Counties or at select businesses.

Brucker also notes there are still a few trees that can be distributed this holiday season. Any interested business owners should contact her and 309-888-5656.
