Blues, Blackhawks Meet Tonight; Both Beat Up

(Chicago, IL) -- Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford will not play in tonight's game against the Blues due to a lower-body injury. Head coach Joel Quenneville said yesterday he isn't sure how long Crawford will be sidelined, but the 'Hawks did call up goaltender Scott Darling from Rockford. Tonight's game is at 7:00.

(St. Louis, MO) -- Veteran goalie Martin Brodeur [[ mar-TAN bro-DURE ]] is the newest member of the St. Louis Blues. They have signed the 42-year-old netminder to a one-year contract. Brodeur joined the Blues last Wednesday on a professional tryout after Brian Elliott suffered a lower-body injury against Ottawa on November 25th that may keep him sidelined for weeks. Brodeur had spent his entire career with the New Jersey Devils, winning three Stanley Cups and four Vezina trophies as the league's top goalie. He is the NHL's all-time leader with 688 wins, 124 shutouts and 1,259 games played.
