El Nino may be coming back. The National Weather Service says there's now a 65-percent chance the West Coast will see a wet winter because of an El Nino weather pattern. Pacific Ocean temperatures are warming, but Michelle Mead with the National Weather Service says another element is still needed.
Mike Halpert with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration explains what's needed for El Nino to return.
Halpert says if El Nino does return, it won't have major implications.
Mead also says the current rains in California are not a result of El Nino. She says they're just typical winter storms we haven't seen in a few years.
